Terms

Terms of use.

Everything here is free. Use it for research, check what it tells you against the decisions, and don't overload the server. The details are below.

What these terms cover

These terms cover this site, acqagent.ai, including the Nexus dashboard, and the GAO protest search server at mcp.acqagent.ai, including when you use the server through ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant. Using any of them means you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, don't use them.

Free and provided as is

Everything here is free and provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The server can be slow or unavailable, and any feature can change or end at any time without notice.

Not legal advice

The content here is for research and general information. It is not legal advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship. AcqAgent is not a law firm. Decisions about a protest or a procurement are yours to make. For advice on a specific matter, talk to a qualified attorney or your agency's counsel.

Check the decision itself

The summaries, issues, reasoning, key points, similar-decision rankings and comparisons are generated by AI models from GAO's decisions. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. The outcome of each decision is read from its text, and that can be wrong too. Decisions from before 1990 come from scanned text and can have errors in names and dates. Before you rely on anything, read the decision on gao.gov and cite it by its B-number.

Not affiliated with GAO

AcqAgent is an independent, open-source project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Government Accountability Office or any other federal agency. GAO's decisions are works of the U.S. government, and the server links to them on gao.gov.

Using the server fairly

Use the server for your own research and work. Don't:

  • download the decisions or their analyses in bulk with automated tools, or copy them into another database or service;
  • get around the rate limit or other protections, for example by spreading requests across many addresses;
  • send requests meant to overload or disrupt the server, or to probe it for weaknesses; or
  • use it for anything unlawful.

The server may slow down, limit or block traffic that looks like any of these.

Using what it returns

You may quote and use the results in your own work, such as a memo, a brief or a protest filing. Cite each decision by its B-number, and don't present the AI-generated analysis as GAO's own words.

The code

The server's code is open source under the MIT License at github.com/acqagent/mcps. That license governs the code; these terms govern the hosted site and server. Other code and data on this site carry the licenses stated with them, such as the Nexus dashboard's License tab.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, AcqAgent and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or other damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or the server, including any decision made based on what they return.

Changes

These terms may change. The date below shows when they last did. Using the site or the server after a change means you accept the new terms.
